Ethics is an important part of any profession. Investigators and process servers who are not familiar with the many ethical challenges, behaviors, or regulations in this field will find themselves struggling.
In this course you will be introduced to principles and approaches in the study of ethics, and look at key issues such as professional responsibility. You will build on your knowledge as you go through the rest of the core modules and look at key concerns such as honesty, confidentiality, surveillance, pre-texting, and honey traps.
Throughout the course you will deepen your knowledge, improve your skills and gain a new perspective on ethical issues.
Through a variety of teaching techniques, including video lecture, articles and case studies, this course will arm the professional investigator and/or process server with the tools and knowledge to tackle tough ethical questions with confidence.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to do the following:
• Familiarize you with the framework and principles of Ethics and why we should study ethics;
• Build your skills in analyzing and solving ethical problems, and understanding why ethics are relevant to you;
• Enable you to understand, criticize, and discuss specific ethical issues; and
• Assist your development of creative problem-solving techniques and critical thinking.
An exam will be administered upon the conclusion of the program. If the candidate passes with a score of 70 percent or better a certificate of completion will be issued in accordance with acceptable standards.
