Educate. Train. Inspire. Share.

Who We Are

PI Education is a division of Storyboard EMP, LLC — a small business and production studio based in Nashville, TN that specializes in continuing education for working professionals. For the past 20 years, PI Education has offered useful, engaging, and high-quality courses to private investigators and process servers all over the U.S. Our instructors are some of the best in the industry — veteran, boots-on-the-ground private investigators and process servers who are experts in specialties from OSINT to surveillance.

Pursuit Magazine is also part of StoryboardEMP.  Pursuit, a free online magazine for private investigators, explores all things investigative, from gumshoe techniques and surveillance tech to industry news and crime in media.

Pursuit and PI Education are owned and edited by husband-wife team Hal Humphreys, a PI, and Kim Green, a writer and radio producer.

Our Motto

Learn because you want to.

Our Mission

To train and inspire fellow professionals who are engaged, lifelong learners.

Our Passion

We believe that learning should be a pleasure, not a chore. We know how hard it is to find excellent training and education focusing on our profession. We’re also advocates for the industry itself — and its reputation. That’s why we want our investigator colleagues to succeed in the business, and also to elevate the profession. Most of all, we truly care about the work we do. Investigators play vital roles in criminal justice and courts, corporate culture, and governance. We help hold institutions accountable and illuminate society’s dark corners. That’s a big responsibility, one that demands strong skills and ethics.

At PI Education, we want you to be more than just a continuing education customer; we want you to be a lifelong learner, too. That’s why we partner with thinkers and leaders like Carrie Kerskie, Dean and Karen Beers, Jacob Osojnak, Marcy Phelps, and others to create quality training for everyone.

Our passion is reflected in our team, company culture, and product quality — all continually evolving to meet the training needs of investigators.

We’d love the opportunity to be of service and help you meet your continuing needs for education and professional development. If you’re looking for guidance or just want to discuss your particular circumstances, give us a call at 615-953-3150 or send us an E-mail.
