Course Description:

Service of process is one of the backbones that our court system is built on. Without it the concept of due process would have little meaning.

We will introduce you to service of process, its history, and the legal principles that govern it. You will learn what skills, knowledge and equipment are needed to start serving legal papers, the types of service, tips for getting the job done effectively, and how to deal with surveillance and the police. Finally, there are several ethical scenarios presented for thought and discussion.
